HIV and sexual health is a delicate topic and many people are unable to visit doctors or talk about their status openly. MyTest is a NSW Government funded initiative that aims to increase HIV testing through self-test kits distributed via vending machines located around NSW. Community members can register online for free and access up to four HIV self-test kits per month at no cost.
The ask
NSW Health’s STI Policy unit approached GHO to create a brand and website to promote MyTest, and educate people on the importance of testing regularly for HIV.
The idea
An inclusive, welcoming and accessible brand and website
GHO created an inviting and fresh brand identity for MyTest – including the logo, fonts, colours and design systems. The MyTest logo took inspiration from the small dot of blood drawn when using the HIV self-test kit. The brand fonts, colours and design system are vibrant and modern whilst ensuring legibility.
Accessibility
Intuitive, accessible UX and UI
We applied an accessibility solution for ADA and WCAG compliance; chose accessible colour palettes, fonts and font sizes; and enabled downloadable ‘easy read’ PDFs across the site making information on getting a test, reading the results, and finding further support easy to access and understand on all devices.
